TackleAfrica uses the power of football to provide youth, aged 12-18, with the knowledge, confidence and services to understand and make their own decisions regarding their sexual and reproductive health rights. The project uses integrated football sessions to deliver health messages, and create safe spaces for young people to learn about their rights, openly discuss sensitive issues and access additional services – such as counseling or contraception.
Fondation CHANEL supports Tackle Africa to train 120 football coaches on sexual health issues to support 6,000 adolescents across Cote d’Ivoire, Burkina Faso, and further countries in West Africa to take control of their sexual and reproductive health, reducing their vulnerability to teenage pregnancy and female genital mutilation (FGM).
TackleAfrica is a UK-based non-profit organization that uses footall to engage with and provide quality sexual health, HIV support, education, and services to young people in Africa. The organization was founded in 2002 and currently runs programs in 10 countries throughout Africa.
