Empowering women in Mexico through access to arts, culture, sports, and ICTs in Mexico

The project

Fondo Semillas provides support to over 100 grassroots women’s organizations throughout Mexico by providing them with access to grantmaking and capacity building as well as facilitating strategic alliances. The project aims to support local women’s groups who are implementing innovative strategies such as the use of culture, arts, and information and communication technologies (ICTs) to educate and empower women and girls in their communities.

Fondation CHANEL is supporting Fondo Semillas to provide funding, ongoing guidance and training, and alliance building support to 12-15 grassroots women’s organizations that are using innovative strategies to achieve social change. Additionally, Fondo Semillas will assist the organizations to become more sustainable and improve their national and international visibility. Through the work of these 12-15 grantees, the program aims to reach at least 5,000 beneficiaries throughout Mexico.
