Fondation CHANEL is partnering with Grameen America to expand their microloan, asset- and credit-building programs which empower low-income women entrepreneurs to provide a better life for themselves, their families, and their communities in 4 US metropolitan areas. Support is also being used to pilot a health and wellness program.
Founded by Nobel Peace Prize winner Muhammad Yunus, Grameen America is a nonprofit microfinance organization empowering women who live in poverty to build small businesses to create better lives for their families. It has provided over $1 billion in small business loans and engaged over 100,000 low-income women in its program to date.
