This project aims to restore hope to young people aged 14 to 21 years old (70% of them girls and young women) living in poverty. The cultural center Djaram’Arts provides a safe space where youth access education and support as part of a 3-year training program. The program uses arts and agriculture to help young girls and boys become aware of their potential, improve their self-confidence, and promote their empowerment by gaining new skills. At the end of the 3 years, they will have acquired the required skills to carry out a professional project.
The Fondation’s support will enable the implementation and evaluation of the project with a view to potentially reproducing it in other regions in the future.
The Djarama association works towards improving access to culture and education for all children, in particular girls, and youth very disadvantaged situations. Using educational and cultural activities, it raises awareness on empowerment of women, personal development, and energy self-sufficiency.
